A SpotHopper alternative only makes sense once you know what you'd be replacing. SpotHopper sells marketing: a website, search, reviews, social posts and campaigns. It isn't an ordering system. So if you want ordering, compare Owner or your POS instead. If you want marketing done for you, compare it against other platforms and against a team. And since it publishes no price, get a written quote before comparing anything.
We have an interest. Gigabit sells restaurant marketing, so SpotHopper is a direct competitor for this budget. We read SpotHopper's own pages on 30 October 2026 and did not test the product, and we say below where it looks like the better choice.
What SpotHopper is, from its own pages
- Who it's for: independent operators, by its own description. It says over 20,000 restaurants use it. We can't check that figure.
- What it does: website, SEO, automated review requests and AI-driven campaigns, under one roof. It also says it creates and schedules social posts and responds to every event inquiry.
- Who does the setup: its team, with your review of the draft site. It says a website goes live in under four weeks.
- Ordering and booking: it links guests out to other platforms rather than running ordering itself, so you still need an ordering system.
- Your data: its FAQ says guest data stays yours.
- Price and contract: its pricing page lists no prices, plans or contract terms. It offers a demo.
How to test the claims in a demo
SpotHopper's home page makes specific promises. We are not saying they're false. We are saying the page doesn't explain how they're measured, and the same goes for any vendor's headline numbers, including those of companies selling against it. Before you buy, ask what each one means for a restaurant like yours.
| Claim on its home page | What to ask |
|---|---|
| 70% more local searches | Compared with what, over how long, and for which restaurants? Does it count searches for my own name? |
| 2 to 3 times more Google reviews | From what starting point? Is that all customers, or those who chose to share results? |
| Twice as many repeat visits from AI promotions | How are visits measured without a POS connection? Is a discount included in that number? |
| Up to 130% more inquiries in three months | "Up to" is the best case. What is the typical case? |
| 22% average lift in orders, reservations and check size | Is that three numbers or one? Lift against what? |
A straight answer to these is a good sign. Then ask for two or three customers like you, in your kind of market, whom you can phone yourself.
- The full price for a year, in writing, with any setup fee
- Contract length, renewal terms and how to cancel
- How each results claim is measured, and against what
- Which tasks are done by people, and which by AI
- Do I approve posts and messages before they go out?
- Who holds the domain and the guest list when I leave?
- Three customers like me whom I can phone
The alternatives, by what you want
| What you want | Look at | What's published | The trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordering and marketing in one | Owner | $249 a month + 5% per order, or $499 a month; guests pay 5% | Built around ordering, with marketing included; guests pay a fee |
| Email and text on a budget | Square Plus | $49 a month per location; unlimited email, first 500 texts free, then 3¢ each | Only on Square; you write the campaigns |
| Reviews and Google, nothing else | Gigabit Starter | $299 a month | No website or social scheduling |
| A website and local search run for you | Gigabit Growth | $599 a month | Ordering stays with your POS; no social scheduling |
| Email and text run for you too | Gigabit Full Service | $999 a month | The most expensive line here |
| Do it all yourself, for free | Our marketing guide | Your time | Your time |

When SpotHopper is the better choice
- Social is what you need most. Automated social posts are central to what it sells. Our plans don't list social media posting beyond your Google profile, so if your guests find you on Instagram and Facebook, it may suit you better than we do.
- Events and happy hours drive your week. Its content and inquiry tools lean that way, which suits bars and venues.
- You already have ordering. Since it links out, it doesn't ask you to replace what works.
- You want a tool, not a relationship. If you'd rather approve things in a dashboard than work with an account team, a platform fits.
- The quote beats the alternative. We can't compare prices until you have one. It may come in below our plans.
Where we'd be the better choice
We're the better fit if you want named people doing the work and a monthly report in plain numbers, with no per-order fee from us. Our Google profile plan is $299 a month, and the prices are in the table above, before any call. We won't generate your social posts, and we don't promise percentage lifts. The free restaurant audit shows what we'd fix first, whichever way you go.
Before you sign with anyone
Get these in writing: the total for a year, the contract length and how to cancel, who holds the domain, how your guest list gets exported, and who answers when something breaks. SpotHopper's pages don't address contract, cancellation or domain ownership, so ask. If you're already a customer and thinking of leaving, ask the same questions and check your notice period before you move anything.
