Odoo vs Zoho vs ERPNext.
Odoo for operations depth, Zoho One for the least upkeep, ERPNext for no licence fee and full control of the source. Below is each one on licence, price, hosting, manufacturing, customisation and built-in AI, taken from the vendors’ own pages on 10 October 2026.
Thirteen questions, three systems.
“Zoho” here means Zoho One, the suite Zoho sells worldwide. Zoho ERP is a different product and is covered where it matters.
| Question | Odoo | Zoho One | ERPNext |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | One suite of business apps on one database, in two editions: Community (open source) and Enterprise (licensed). | A bundle of 50+ Zoho cloud apps under one subscription. Zoho ERP is a separate product, sold in India. | An open-source ERP built on the Frappe Framework. |
| Licence | Community is LGPLv3. Enterprise is proprietary and needs a subscription. | A cloud subscription. | GPL-3.0. The vendor states there are no paid features held back. |

Billed annually, plus local taxes. | No per-user fee. You pay for hosting: Frappe Cloud starts at $5 a month for one site on shared servers. |
| Where it runs | Odoo Online, Odoo.sh, or your own servers. Odoo.sh and on-premise need the Custom plan, and Odoo.sh hosting is charged on top. | Zoho's own data centres. The region is set by the country you choose at sign-up. | Frappe Cloud, or self-hosted. |
| Accounting | Yes, in Enterprise. Community has invoicing and payments only. | Yes: Zoho Books, included. | Yes. |
| Inventory | Yes, in both editions. Barcode is Enterprise. | Yes: Zoho Inventory, included. | Yes. |
| Manufacturing | Yes, in both editions. Shop floor, PLM and quality are Enterprise. | No. Zoho's own help pages say Zoho Inventory does not yet support manufacturing. Zoho ERP has it, in India. | Yes: multi-level bills of materials, production planning and work orders. |
| CRM | Yes, in both editions. | Yes: Zoho CRM, included. | Through Frappe CRM, a separate open-source app from the same vendor. |

Odoo Online does not accept custom modules. | Zoho Creator for custom apps, Deluge for scripting, Zoho Flow for integrations. | The Frappe Framework: your own DocTypes, scripts and custom apps, which Frappe Cloud will host. |
| Versions | One major version a year. Each gets three years of standard support. Odoo 20 came out in September 2026. | Zoho runs and updates it. There are no versions for you to manage. | Two major versions supported at a time. Version 16 is current, with support planned to the end of 2029. |
| Built-in AI | An Artificial Intelligence app with agents that can create and update records. “Agentic AI” is listed on the Custom plan. | Zia agents are free to build. Zoho-hosted models are free up to 30 million tokens a month. | None described on the vendor pages we read. |
| Who implements it | Odoo and its partners, graded Learning, Ready, Silver and Gold. | Zoho and its partner network. | Partners only. Frappe states it does not provide implementation services itself. |
Read on each vendor’s own pages on 10 October 2026; the sources are listed below. We quote no per-user price for Odoo because Odoo sets it by country, and the figure we were shown would mislead a reader elsewhere. Plans and prices on all three change often, so check the source before you budget.
Each is the right answer for someone.
Choose Odoo when
FitsStock, purchasing or manufacturing is central to the business and you want it in the same database as sales and accounts.
Watch forNeeding accounting or Studio puts you on the paid edition, and custom modules rule out Odoo Online. Budget for a developer within reach.
Choose Zoho One when
FitsYou are a sales- or service-led company that wants CRM, finance, support and HR working together with the least upkeep.
Watch forThere is no manufacturing in the suite, and the low price only applies if every employee is licensed. The flexible price is more than double.
Choose ERPNext when
FitsYou have technical staff, want no licence fee, and need accounting, stock and manufacturing you can change at source level.
Watch forNo licence fee is not no cost. You pay for hosting and for a partner or your own engineers, and the vendor will not implement it for you.
Choose none of them when
FitsYou are a large group with complex multi-entity finance, or you only need a CRM.
Watch forThe first belongs on NetSuite or SAP. The second is a lighter purchase: Zoho CRM, HubSpot or Pipedrive by itself.
The licence is the small line.
Three costs decide the budget, and only the first is on a pricing page.
Licence and hosting
The published prices in the table. For ERPNext this is hosting only. For Odoo on Odoo.sh it is the subscription plus hosting. For Zoho One it depends on whether you can license every employee.
Implementation and data
Process mapping, configuration, migration and training. Our Odoo implementation is from $15,000 fixed, in phases, from 8 weeks; a Zoho CRM set-up is from $6,000 fixed. What each includes.
Upgrades and custom code
Odoo and ERPNext both retire versions, so custom code has to be carried forward. Zoho removes that work and limits how far you can change the product. Custom modules and upgrades with us are an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month.

Do not choose the software first. Write down how an order, a stock movement and an invoice travel through the business today, then see which of the three fits that with the least custom code. We are an Odoo Partner, and we will still tell you when Zoho or ERPNext is the better fit.
Odoo, Zoho or ERPNext
Odoo vs Zoho vs ERPNext: which should a growing company choose?
Choose Odoo when inventory, purchasing or manufacturing is central and you want it in one database with sales and accounts. Choose Zoho One when you are sales- or service-led and want CRM, finance, support and HR with the least upkeep; it has no manufacturing. Choose ERPNext when you have technical staff and want open-source accounting, stock and manufacturing with no licence fee.
Which is cheapest: Odoo, Zoho or ERPNext?
On licence alone, ERPNext: it is GPL-3.0 with no per-user fee, and Frappe Cloud hosting starts at $5 a month. Odoo's One App Free plan is also $0, for a single app. Zoho One is US$37 per employee per month when every employee is licensed, or US$90 per user per month otherwise, billed annually. Licence is only one line of the bill, though. Implementation, data migration and upkeep are separate costs and are often the larger ones.
Is ERPNext really free?
The software is. ERPNext is open source under GPL-3.0, and its vendor, Frappe, states there are no features held behind a paid edition. You still pay for hosting, on Frappe Cloud or your own servers, and for implementation. Frappe does not implement ERPNext itself; certified partners or your own engineers do.
Does Zoho have an ERP?
Yes, but not everywhere. Zoho launched Zoho ERP in January 2026 for businesses in India, priced in rupees. It is a separate product and is not included in Zoho One. Outside India, the Zoho suite companies buy is Zoho One, which covers accounting, inventory, CRM, HR and support but not manufacturing.
Can Zoho One handle manufacturing?
Not as published today. Zoho's own knowledge base says Zoho Inventory does not yet support manufacturing modules. Manufacturing orders and shop-floor features are in Zoho ERP, which is sold in India and is not part of Zoho One. A manufacturer comparing these three is really choosing between Odoo and ERPNext.
What is the difference between Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise?
Community is open source under LGPLv3 and includes CRM, sales, inventory, manufacturing, point of sale, website and e-commerce. Enterprise is a paid, proprietary edition that adds full accounting, payroll, Studio, helpdesk, the mobile apps, hosting and version upgrades. A company that needs accounting inside Odoo ends up on Enterprise.
Which of the three has AI built in?
Odoo and Zoho. Odoo has an Artificial Intelligence app with agents that can create and update records, and lists “Agentic AI” on its Custom plan. Zoho's Zia agents are free to build, with Zoho-hosted models free up to 30 million tokens a month. We found no built-in AI described on ERPNext's own pages.
Does Gigabit implement all three?
Gigabit is an Odoo Partner and implements Odoo from $15,000 fixed, in phases, with Odoo's licence fees separate. We set up and extend Zoho CRM and the wider Zoho One suite from $6,000 fixed. ERPNext is not one of our published platforms, so we would tell you if a Frappe partner is the better call.
