WooCommerce development for stores that outgrew plugins.

WooCommerce gives you the code, the data and the hosting. It also gives you the job of keeping all three working. We build the custom extensions, fix the performance, and take the maintenance off your desk.

The short answer

What Gigabit does on WooCommerce.

Gigabit builds and maintains WooCommerce stores: custom extensions, checkout and payment gateway work, performance tuning for large catalogs and order volumes, integrations with ERP and shipping systems, and migrations in either direction.

WooCommerce is open source and runs on WordPress, so nothing is off limits and nothing is taken care of for you. Most of the stores we are asked to look at do not have a WooCommerce problem. They have dozens of plugins, some of them abandoned, and nobody who owns the whole thing.

What we build

The WooCommerce work we take on.

Extensions written to WooCommerce's own hooks and APIs, so the next update does not undo them.

Custom extensions

Plugins built on WooCommerce hooks, the REST API and the Store API for pricing rules, product types and workflows that off-the-shelf plugins approximate badly.

Checkout and payment gateways

Block-based checkout customisation and payment gateway integrations, including regional gateways that have no maintained plugin.

Performance at scale

High-Performance Order Storage, object caching, query profiling and background job tuning for stores where the admin has slowed to a crawl.

Integrations

Order, stock and customer sync with ERP, accounting, shipping and marketplace systems, with retries and a reconciliation report.

Migrations, both ways

Onto WooCommerce when you need control, and off it to Shopify or BigCommerce when the upkeep is costing more than the freedom is worth.

Plugin audit and takeover

An inventory of every plugin and customisation, what each does, what is abandoned or duplicated, and a plan to get to a store one team can own.

AI on WooCommerce

On WooCommerce, AI is something you add. Be choosy about how.

There is no single built-in assistant, which is a freedom and a risk.

What the platform ships

What the ecosystem offers

WooCommerce itself is deliberately lean. Its AI story in 2026 is plumbing, not features: core now exposes the store to agents, and what uses that is up to you.

  • WooCommerce 10.9 added core abilities for products and orders through the WordPress Abilities API, with the MCP adapter bundled. It is still labelled a developer preview.
  • Chatbot plugins of uneven quality, most of which answer from your pages but cannot see or change an order.
  • A complete REST API, which is the part that matters: anything an agent needs to read or do can be reached.
What we add

Agents on your own data

Because you own the database, an agent can be grounded in everything: orders, stock, customer history and your policies, without a platform deciding what it may see.

  • A support agent that looks up real orders and takes real actions, with a confidence threshold and human hand-off.
  • Catalog enrichment and normalisation across thousands of products, reviewed before it is published.
  • Order-exception and returns workflows that run across WooCommerce, shipping and accounting.
  • Deployed in your hosting account, so customer data does not leave infrastructure you control.
How it is priced

Published prices, mapped to the job.

Every figure here is the same one on the pricing page. Nothing on this platform is quoted from a separate rate card.

A price marked “from” buys the base scope set out on the pricing page. Anything larger is quoted as a fixed price before work starts. Work with no natural end, such as ongoing development, is priced per engineer per month with no lock-in.

An honest read

When WooCommerce is the right call, and when it is not.

Choose it when
  • You need to own the code and the customer data outright, or host in a specific country.
  • The site is already a serious WordPress content property and the store should live inside it.
  • Your product or pricing logic is unusual enough that hosted platforms fight you.
Look elsewhere when
  • Nobody on your side, or ours, is going to own updates, security and hosting. Then a hosted platform is safer.
  • You run large flash sales and have no infrastructure engineer. Hosted checkouts absorb spikes for you.
  • You want the platform to carry payment security and uptime as its problem, not yours.
WooCommerce FAQ

Questions WooCommerce teams ask

How much does WooCommerce development cost with Gigabit?

A new WooCommerce store starts at $9,000 fixed, covering a custom theme, up to 500 products, payments, shipping, tax and up to three integrations. A migration onto or off WooCommerce starts at $7,000 fixed. One scoped integration or workflow is $8,000 fixed over three weeks. Custom extensions, performance work and upkeep are an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month, with a two-to-four week trial and no lock-in.

Should we stay on WooCommerce or move to Shopify?

Stay if you need control of code and data, already run a strong WordPress site, or have product logic a hosted platform restricts. Move if nobody owns updates and security, or the monthly cost of keeping the store healthy exceeds what a hosted platform would charge. We do both migrations, so we have no reason to push either answer.

Can WooCommerce handle a large store?

Yes, with engineering. High-Performance Order Storage, proper object caching, tuned background jobs and a host sized for the load make the difference. An unmaintained store on shared hosting with dozens of plugins will struggle at any size.

Will you take over a store another agency built?

Yes. We start with an audit of every plugin and customisation, fix what is unsafe first, and then agree what to keep, replace or remove. We regularly take over systems other teams built.
