Which one, when

Each is the right answer for someone.

Choose Webflow when

FitsThe site is a marketing and sales surface, design quality matters, and the marketing team should publish pages without a developer.

Watch forSeats and bandwidth are billed on top of the site plan, CMS content is capped at 20,000 items on Premium, and leaving later means rebuilding the CMS somewhere else.

Choose WordPress when

FitsContent is the product: many authors, many content types, a publishing workflow, or functionality a plugin already gets you most of the way to.

Watch forSomeone has to own updates, plugins, backups and hosting. An unmaintained WordPress site is a security liability.

Choose Webflow Basic or Framer when

FitsIt is a small site with no blog or collections, and the person who edits it is a designer.

Watch forBasic has no CMS. The day you add a blog or case-study collection you move to Premium.

Choose neither when

FitsThe site is really a logged-in product with a marketing page attached.

Watch forBuild the application, then put a headless CMS or a small Webflow site beside it for the pages marketing owns.

What it really costs

The plan price is the small line.

Three costs decide the budget, and only the first is on a pricing page.

1 · Running it

Subscription, seats and hosting

On Webflow: the site plan, a seat for each person who edits, and add-ons for languages or bandwidth. On WordPress: hosting sized for your traffic, plus any premium plugins, each usually billed yearly.

2 · Building it

Design, CMS and content

Templates, the CMS structure, forms into your CRM and redirects from the old site. Our website build is from $6,000 fixed on either platform, from 4 weeks; a move between them is from $7,000. What each includes.

3 · Keeping it

Updates and changes

WordPress needs someone to apply updates, retire abandoned plugins and test backups. Webflow removes that work and limits how far you can change the platform. Custom plugins, components and upkeep with us are an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month.

The anti-positioning

Do not choose on the demo. Write down who will edit the site each week, how many pages and posts it will hold in two years, and who applies updates, then pick the platform that fits those three answers. We build on both, and we will tell you when the one you came in asking for is the wrong one.

Compare FAQ

Webflow or WordPress

Webflow vs WordPress: which is better for a company website?

Webflow, when the site is mainly marketing pages, design matters and the marketing team should publish without a developer. WordPress, when content is the product: many authors, many content types, an editorial workflow, or features a plugin already provides. If nobody will own updates and security, Webflow is the safer choice; if you need to own the code and host where you like, WordPress is.

How much does Webflow cost per month?

Per site, billed yearly: Starter is free with two pages on a webflow.io address, Basic is $15 a month with no CMS, and Premium is $25 a month with the CMS (20,000 items). Billed monthly they are $25 and $39. People who edit need seats on top: $15 a month per Limited seat to edit content, $39 per Full seat to design. Localization and extra bandwidth are add-ons. Prices are from webflow.com/pricing on 22 October 2026.

Is WordPress really free?

The software is. WordPress is open source under GPLv2 or later, free to download and change. You pay for hosting, a domain, any premium plugins or themes, and the time to keep it updated. Hosted on WordPress.com, plans run from $4 a month (Personal) to $45 (Commerce), billed yearly, and every paid plan now allows plugins and custom themes.

Can we leave Webflow later?

Partly. On a paid workspace you can export the site's HTML, CSS and JavaScript and host it anywhere. Webflow's pricing page says CMS items cannot be exported as pages, forms stop working after export, and an exported site cannot be imported back. In practice, leaving Webflow means rebuilding the CMS on another platform and carrying the content over, which is a migration project.

Is Webflow better for SEO than WordPress?

Neither ranks a site by itself. Both produce crawlable HTML and let you control titles, descriptions, redirects, sitemaps and structured data; WordPress does most of it through an SEO plugin, Webflow in its settings. What moves rankings is speed, a clean URL structure and content that answers the question. The practical difference is upkeep: plugin conflicts and slow hosting hurt more WordPress sites than any missing Webflow feature hurts Webflow sites.

Which has better AI features in 2026?

They aim at different things. Webflow's AI Assistant helps people build in the Designer: sections, code components, copy and CMS items, on monthly credits. WordPress 7.0, released on 20 May 2026, put an AI Client, a Connectors screen and the Abilities API in core, so plugins and outside agents can act on a site through supported interfaces. Webflow also offers an MCP server for outside AI tools.

Should we move from WordPress to Webflow?

Move when the site is mostly marketing pages, the team wants to edit visually and plugin upkeep has become a tax. Stay when you depend on plugins Webflow cannot replace, have more content than its CMS limits, or need to host in a specific place. Any move needs every old URL redirected and the content checked after import, or search traffic drops.

What does Gigabit charge to build on Webflow or WordPress?

A website on either platform starts at $6,000 fixed: up to eight page templates, CMS set-up, analytics, forms into your CRM, redirects from the old site and a hand-over session. A move from one to the other starts at $7,000 fixed. We build on both, so we have no reason to push either.

Before you build
