Which one, when

Each is the right answer for someone.

Choose Framer when

FitsA designer owns the site, the content is a few collections (posts, case studies, jobs) in the low thousands, and speed from design to live matters more than structure.

Watch forThere is no export, so leaving means a rebuild. Basic has no redirects or staging, which matters the day you replace an old site. CMS add-ons stop at 40,000 items.

Choose Webflow when

FitsThe CMS is large or structured, several marketers edit every week, you need more than a handful of languages, or the site sells a modest catalog online.

Watch forSeats and bandwidth are billed on top of the site plan, Basic has no CMS at all, and the Designer expects you to think in CSS classes, which takes longer to learn than Framer's canvas.

Choose Framer Basic when

FitsIt is a small new site with one or two collections and no old URLs to redirect. At $10 a month billed yearly it is the cheapest of the two with a CMS.

Watch forLimits on Basic are fixed. Redirects, staging and extra CMS items all mean Pro at $30.

Choose neither when

FitsThe site is really a store with a real catalog, a publication with many authors, or a logged-in product.

Watch forUse a commerce platform such as Shopify, a CMS such as WordPress, or build the application and keep a small marketing site beside it.

What it really costs

The plan price is the small line.

Three costs decide the budget, and only the first is on a pricing page.

1 · Running it

Plan, seats and add-ons

Take a marketing site with a blog, one designer who owns it, one more designer and three people who write. On yearly billing that is about $80 a month on Framer Pro ($30 + $20 + 3 × $10) and $109 on Webflow Premium ($25 + $39 + 3 × $15). Our arithmetic on prices read on 23 October 2026, before languages or extra bandwidth.

2 · Building it

Design, CMS and integrations

Templates, the CMS structure, forms into your CRM, analytics and redirects from the old site. Our website build is from $6,000 fixed on either platform, from 4 weeks. What each includes.

3 · Moving and keeping it

Migrations and change

Neither platform exports its CMS, so moving between them, or off them, is a rebuild with every URL redirected. A migration with us starts at $7,000 fixed. Custom components and ongoing changes are an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month.

The anti-positioning

Do not choose on the animation demo. Count the CMS items you will have in two years, the people who will edit each week, the languages, and the old URLs you must redirect on launch day, then pick the builder that fits those numbers. We build on both, and we will tell you when the one you came in asking for is the wrong one.

Compare FAQ

Framer vs Webflow

Framer vs Webflow: which is better?

Framer is better for a designer-led marketing site with modest content that needs to go live fast; it is cheaper and quicker to learn. Webflow is better when the CMS is large or structured, many people edit, you need several languages or you want to sell online. Both host the site for you and neither exports its CMS, so choose on two-year content and team size, not on the first page you design.

Is Framer cheaper than Webflow?

Usually. Billed yearly, Framer Basic is $10 a month with a small CMS and Pro is $30; Webflow Basic is $15 with no CMS and Premium is $25. Billed monthly, Framer is $15 and $45 and Webflow is $25 and $39. Seats change the picture: Framer charges $20 per editor and $10 per content editor, Webflow $39 per Full seat and $15 per Limited seat. Prices checked on 23 October 2026.

Can you export your site from Framer or Webflow?

Framer's help centre says it does not offer HTML export for self-hosting. Webflow lets paid Workspaces export HTML and CSS, but CMS items and pages are left out, forms stop working and an export cannot be imported back. In practice, leaving either one means rebuilding the CMS on another platform and redirecting every URL.

Which is better for SEO, Framer or Webflow?

Both produce fast, crawlable pages with editable titles, descriptions, canonical tags and sitemaps. The differences are in the plans: Framer only includes 301 redirects and static files such as robots.txt from Pro, while Webflow includes redirects, robots.txt and schema settings from Basic. If you are replacing an old site, budget for Framer Pro or Webflow Premium so the old URLs can be redirected.

Which handles more CMS content?

Webflow. Premium includes 20,000 CMS items in 40 collections, and Team raises collections to 100 and sells extra items. Framer Pro includes 2,500 items in 10 collections and sells more in steps of 10,000 up to 40,000 items. Framer Basic is fixed at 1,000 items in 2 collections; Webflow Basic has no CMS.

Can Framer or Webflow run an online store?

Webflow can, on its Ecommerce plans: $29 a month billed yearly for 500 products with a 2% Webflow fee, $74 for 5,000 and $212 for 15,000 with no fee, plus Stripe or PayPal fees. Framer has no built-in store; third-party Marketplace plugins connect it to Shopify or a Stripe checkout. For a real catalog, subscriptions or several sales channels, a commerce platform is the better base.

How hard is it to move from Webflow to Framer, or back?

It is a rebuild. Neither tool imports the other's designs, and neither exports its CMS as a working site. Content comes across as data, page templates are rebuilt, and every old URL needs a redirect, or search traffic drops after launch. On Framer that needs Pro, since Basic has no redirects.

What does Gigabit charge to build on Framer or Webflow?

A site on either starts at $6,000 fixed: up to eight page templates, CMS set-up, analytics, forms into your CRM, redirects from the old site and a hand-over session. A move from one platform to another starts at $7,000 fixed. We build on both, so we have no reason to push either.
