QuickBooks integration that still reconciles at month end.

Most QuickBooks integrations work on the day they go live. The trouble shows at month end, when payouts, fees and refunds do not match the bank. We build QuickBooks Online integrations with Stripe, Shopify, your CRM and your own product that post each transaction once, reconcile, and tell someone when they cannot.

The short answer

What Gigabit does on QuickBooks.

Gigabit builds integrations between QuickBooks Online and the systems that create the transactions: billing and payment platforms such as Stripe, stores such as Shopify, CRMs, and your own product. We work on the QuickBooks Online Accounting API with OAuth 2.0, webhooks and change data capture, and we design each integration so that it still reconciles at month end.

We are not an Intuit partner and we do not do bookkeeping. Your accountant decides how each kind of transaction should be recorded; we make the systems record it that way every time. If an off-the-shelf connector already covers your rules, use it, and we will tell you so.

What we build

The QuickBooks work we take on.

Integrations that a controller can trust, because every posting can be traced back to its source.

Billing and payments into QuickBooks

Invoices, payments, refunds and fees from Stripe or your billing system posted as QuickBooks invoices, payments and deposits, so each payout matches its bank line.

Store orders and payouts

Shopify or marketplace orders, refunds, fees and payouts posted per order or as daily summaries, with sales tax mapped the way your accountant wants it.

CRM to invoicing

Won deals in HubSpot, Salesforce or Zoho turned into QuickBooks customers and invoices, with payment status written back to the CRM.

Bills, expenses and payroll

Bills, receipts and payroll journals from the tools that produce them, coded to the right accounts and classes before they reach the ledger.

Reconciliation and safe retries

A request ID on every write so a retry cannot create a duplicate, a daily change-data-capture check for missed webhooks, and a report of what did not match.

Reporting from QuickBooks data

QuickBooks data in a warehouse next to billing, CRM and product data, so finance reports stop being built by hand.

AI on QuickBooks

Intuit's agents work inside QuickBooks. Your transactions start somewhere else.

Use Intuit's features for the work inside the ledger. Build for the work that crosses systems.

What the platform ships

Built into the platform

Intuit Assist is Intuit's AI assistant in QuickBooks, and on 1 July 2025 Intuit began rolling out a set of AI agents in QuickBooks Online in the US. Which ones you get depends on your plan and country.

  • Accounting Agent, which categorises transactions and helps with reconciliation.
  • Payments Agent, which tracks invoices, sends invoices and reminders, and predicts late payments.
  • Finance Agent for reporting, KPI analysis and forecasting, and Customer Agent for leads, email replies and meetings.
  • Marketing, payroll and project management agents, which Intuit announced at the same time for later release.
What we add

Agents on the money that has not reached the ledger

QuickBooks agents see what is already in QuickBooks. The questions that cost a finance team its week are about what is missing from it, or does not match.

  • A reconciliation agent that matches payouts, fees and refunds across Stripe, the store and the bank, and explains each line it cannot match.
  • A collections agent that reads overdue invoices alongside the CRM history and drafts the right follow-up for a person to send.
  • Bill and receipt coding suggested from your own past transactions, checked against your accountant's rules.
  • A person approves anything that posts to the ledger, by default, and every run is logged.

The QuickBooks API, plainly

What the QuickBooks Online API allows, limits and now charges for.

From Intuit's developer documentation, checked on 23 October 2026. Intuit changes these terms, so check the linked pages before you build or budget.

What Intuit's App Partner Program charges

Every app that uses the QuickBooks Online API now sits in the Intuit App Partner Program. It started in the US on 28 July 2025 and reached the UK, Australia and Canada (excluding Quebec) on 3 November 2025, the day metering began. Calls fall into two groups. Core calls cover most data-in operations, such as creating or updating invoices, bills, customers and vendors, and are neither metered nor charged. CorePlus calls cover most data-out operations, such as reading accounts, querying company information and fetching reports, and are metered.

What that means for your integration

The Payments API, the Desktop API, the Workforce API, all OAuth endpoints and the sandbox are not metered, and failed calls are not charged. Usage is counted per app and added up per developer workspace.

An integration built for one company usually stays on the free Builder tier, because writes are free and 500,000 reads a month is a lot for one set of books. The design choice that decides it is how the integration learns about changes: webhooks plus a daily change-data-capture call keep reads low, while polling every record every few minutes does not.

Rate limits

A throttled call returns HTTP 429. Intuit's guidance is to wait 60 seconds before retrying.

LimitValue
Requests per company500 a minute
Requests per company and app10 a second
Batch requestsUp to 30 operations recommended per batch; 40 batch requests a minute per company and app, 120 per company
Including endpoints outside QuickBooks Online800 requests a minute per company and app, combined
Query results1,000 records per response; paginate beyond that
Request timeout120 seconds

Connections, webhooks and duplicates

Access tokens last one hour. Refresh tokens expire after 100 days without use, their value changes every 24 hours, and every refresh token now has a maximum life of five years. Every integration needs to store the newest token and offer a way to reconnect.

Webhooks must be acknowledged with HTTP 200 within 3 seconds. Intuit retries failed deliveries at growing intervals up to every six hours, may send events out of order, and advises queueing events, processing them separately, and running a change-data-capture call to catch anything missed.

Writes should carry a request ID. QuickBooks recognises a repeated ID and returns the original response; without one, a retry after a dropped connection creates a duplicate transaction.

Since 1 August 2025 the Accounting API answers at minor version 75 at the least and silently ignores lower values, so integrations written against older minor versions should be retested.

An honest read

When QuickBooks is the right call, and when it is not.

Choose it when
  • A small or mid-sized company whose books are in QuickBooks Online and whose transactions start in other systems.
  • Month-end close is slow because payouts, fees and refunds are matched by hand.
  • An accountant or controller who can say how each transaction type should be recorded.
Look elsewhere when
  • One store or one Stripe account with standard needs. Intuit's own Shopify connector or a packaged app costs less; start there.
  • Several legal entities, warehouses and consolidation. That is ERP work; look at NetSuite or Odoo.
  • You want someone to keep the books. That is an accountant's job, and we work alongside one.

Questions QuickBooks teams ask

How much does QuickBooks integration cost with Gigabit?

One scoped integration, such as Stripe or Shopify into QuickBooks Online with reconciliation and safe retries, is $8,000 fixed over 3 weeks, with 30 days of support. A reconciliation or collections agent is a flat fee from $8,000. Several integrations, a finance data warehouse or an app that connects to many QuickBooks companies is an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month, and keeping integrations running afterwards is Managed AI Operations from $3,000 a month. Intuit's subscription, and any API fees, are separate.

Is Gigabit an Intuit partner?

No. We are not an Intuit partner or a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and we do not do bookkeeping. We build integrations on Intuit's published QuickBooks Online APIs. We register the app in your own Intuit Developer workspace where we can, so the app, its keys and any Intuit billing stay in your name.

Does the QuickBooks API cost money?

It can. Since July 2025 in the US, and November 2025 in the UK, Australia and Canada, every app on the QuickBooks API sits in Intuit's App Partner Program. Writing data, such as creating invoices, bills and customers, is a Core call and is not metered. Reading data, such as accounts, company information and reports, is a CorePlus call and has been metered since 3 November 2025. The free Builder tier allows 500,000 CorePlus calls a month and blocks calls above that. When we checked Intuit's FAQ on 23 October 2026, its worked example put Silver at US$300 a month with 1,000,000 CorePlus calls included and US$3.50 per 1,000 above that. A private integration designed with webhooks usually stays inside the free tier.

What are the QuickBooks Online API rate limits?

Intuit's limits page, checked on 23 October 2026, gives 500 requests a minute per company and 10 requests a second per company and app. Batch requests should carry up to 30 operations, with 40 batch requests a minute per company and app. Queries return at most 1,000 records per response, and requests that run longer than 120 seconds time out. A throttled call returns HTTP 429, and Intuit says to wait 60 seconds before retrying.

How do you connect Stripe to QuickBooks without duplicates or mismatches?

Two decisions settle most of it. First, post at the level the bank sees: a Stripe payout arrives as one deposit, so the integration records the charges, refunds and Stripe fees that make up that payout and the deposit that clears them. Second, make every write safe to retry: each one carries a request ID, which QuickBooks uses to return the original result instead of creating a second transaction. A daily change-data-capture check then catches anything a webhook missed.

Should we use a Shopify connector or a custom QuickBooks integration?

Start with the connector. Intuit publishes its own QuickBooks Online app on the Shopify App Store, free to install with possible additional charges, covering orders, payouts, customers, products and sales tax mapping. A custom integration earns its cost when your rules go past that: several stores or currencies, wholesale orders on terms, bundles, or a controller who wants postings in a specific shape. We tell you which you need before quoting.

Why do QuickBooks connections stop working?

Usually the tokens. Per Intuit's Authorization FAQ, access tokens last one hour, refresh tokens expire after 100 days without use, the refresh token value changes every 24 hours, and every refresh token now has a maximum life of five years. An integration that does not store the newest refresh token, or sits idle too long, loses its connection. We build a reconnect path and an alert so someone knows before month end.

Do you work with QuickBooks Desktop?

This page is about QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop has its own API and a different connection model, so we scope Desktop work case by case. For an integration you expect to keep for years, moving the books to QuickBooks Online first is often the better investment.
