Odoo vs NetSuite.
Odoo when you want a published price, operations depth and the option to host it yourself. NetSuite when multi-entity finance is the hard part and you want Oracle to run everything. Below is each one on licence, price, pricing structure, hosting, modules, customisation, implementation, multi-company, ecommerce, AI, contracts and leaving, taken from Odoo's and Oracle's own pages on 23 October 2026.
Thirteen questions, two ERPs.
Odoo prices are the US figures on odoo.com/pricing, which sets prices by country. NetSuite has no public price list, so its column describes the structure Oracle states.
| Question | Odoo | NetSuite |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A suite of business apps on one database, in two editions: Community (open source) and Enterprise (licensed). | Oracle's cloud ERP suite for finance, inventory, orders, CRM, HR, ecommerce and more. Oracle says it has more than 44,000 customers. |
| Licence and source | Community is LGPLv3: free to run and change. Enterprise is a proprietary subscription built on the same core. | A proprietary software-as-a-service subscription. There is no self-hosted or source-available edition. |
| Published pricing | Yes. One App Free $0. Standard US$31.10 and Custom US$61.00 per user per month billed yearly (US$38.90 and US$76.20 monthly), with 20% off the first 12 months. Community has no licence fee. | None. Oracle publishes no list prices and asks you to contact sales. Vendr, a software purchasing firm, reports a median NetSuite contract of $74,782 a year across 1,516 purchases. |
| Pricing structure | Per user per month, with every app included for one fee. Billed yearly or monthly. Odoo.sh hosting and implementation are charged separately. | An annual licence fee made of three parts: core platform, optional modules and number of users. A one-time implementation fee on top. Modules can be added during the contract, each with its own fee. |
| Deployment | Odoo Online (Odoo's cloud, no custom modules), Odoo.sh (Odoo's platform for custom code, from $57.80 a month billed yearly) or your own servers. Odoo.sh and on-premise need the Custom plan. | Oracle's cloud only. Oracle runs the infrastructure and ships two updates a year. Each account sits in a single data centre in a region you choose. |
| Modules | All apps for one fee on Standard and Custom: accounting, CRM, inventory, manufacturing, eCommerce, point of sale, HR, payroll, project, helpdesk and more. | Core finance (general ledger, payables, receivables, cash) is part of the suite. CRM, commerce, manufacturing, HR, planning and other modules are licensed one by one, plus SuiteApps from partners. |
| Customisation | Odoo Studio for no-code fields, screens and automations (Custom plan). Custom modules in Python on Odoo.sh or on-premise. Custom modules must be ported to each new version before the database can be upgraded. | Point-and-click custom records and forms, SuiteFlow for visual workflows, SuiteScript (JavaScript) and the SuiteCloud Development Framework for code. Oracle says customisations carry forward through every upgrade. |
| Implementation and timeline | Odoo's Success Packs (US$580 for 4 hours to US$25,000 for 200) for companies under 50 employees; partners above that. Odoo's estimator says 80% of projects in its scope reach production in 200 hours or less. | NetSuite Consulting, with fixed-fee SuiteSuccess packages, or Alliance Partners, who Oracle says perform 40% of implementations. NetSuite's own guide puts an ERP implementation at usually six to 12 months. |
| Multi-company and multi-currency | Several companies in one database on the Custom plan. Multi-currency accounting is built in. | NetSuite OneWorld: many subsidiaries and legal entities with real-time consolidation, 27 languages and 190 currencies. |
| Ecommerce | Website and eCommerce apps included in every paid plan, on the same database as stock and accounts. | NetSuite Commerce (SuiteCommerce) for B2B and B2C, sharing item, inventory, customer and order data with the ERP. |
| AI features | An Artificial Intelligence app: agents you define with a role, instructions and tools, AI fields, document sorting and meeting transcription. Agentic AI is listed on the Custom plan. | Bill Capture, Exception Management, Narrative Reporting, Text Enhance with Prompt Studio, and the AI Connector Service, which links outside AI platforms over the Model Context Protocol. |
| Contract terms | Yearly or monthly subscription at published prices. The first-year discount applies only to the users ordered at the start. | An annual licence fee, with renewal terms set in your order. Oracle publishes no standard terms or prices to compare against. |
| Leaving and your data | Odoo says you own your data: download a full database backup from Odoo Online at any time, and move it to Odoo.sh or your own servers. The core software is open source. | Oracle's help centre says Full CSV Export does not export all data. A full extract combines saved searches, reports, SOAP web services or SuiteAnalytics Connect, and ODBC access is an extra fee. |
Read on each vendor's own pages on 23 October 2026; the sources are listed below. Odoo figures are US dollars per user per month for US buyers. The Vendr figure is a third-party estimate, not an Oracle price. For Odoo against open-source and suite alternatives, see Odoo vs Zoho vs ERPNext; for the full Odoo cost breakdown, see Odoo pricing.
Each is the right answer for someone.
Choose Odoo when
FitsStock, purchasing or manufacturing is central, you want sales, operations and accounts in one database, and you want to know the licence price before you talk to anyone.
Watch forOne custom module moves you to the Custom plan and off Odoo Online, roughly doubling the licence. Custom code has to be ported at every major upgrade.
Choose NetSuite when
FitsYou run several subsidiaries across countries, consolidation and audit are the hard problems, and you want a vendor to run hosting and upgrades end to end.
Watch forThe price is a negotiation. Get users, modules, implementation and renewal terms in writing before you sign, and plan how you would extract your data.
Choose Odoo with a Success Pack when
FitsYou have fewer than 50 employees, standard processes and no custom code. Odoo's own consultant hours and Odoo Online are the cheapest sensible set-up.
Watch forSuccess Packs are blocks of hours. If integrations or data migration run past them, you are buying more hours or a partner.
Choose neither when
FitsYou only need accounting, or you are a large group already standardised on SAP or Microsoft.
Watch forThe first is a lighter purchase: an accounting package connected to your store. The second rarely justifies a switch for one division.
The licence is one line of three.
Only the first line appears on a pricing page, and on NetSuite's it does not appear at all.
Per user, or per quote
Odoo: 25 users on Custom billed yearly is US$18,300 a year at list price, US$14,700 in year one with the discount (our arithmetic on the US prices). NetSuite: a quote built from platform, modules and users. Vendr's median is $74,782 a year; treat it as a market signal, not a price.
Configuration, data and training
NetSuite charges a one-time implementation fee and Odoo sells Success Packs from US$580 to US$25,000. As an Odoo Partner, our Odoo implementation is from $15,000 fixed, from 8 weeks, with the licence paid to Odoo. Already on NetSuite? We connect it to your store and apps; one integration is $8,000 fixed.
Upgrades and custom code
Odoo ships a major version a year; standard apps and Studio upgrade free, custom modules need porting. NetSuite updates twice a year and Oracle says customisations carry forward, but scripts still need testing. Custom modules, scripts and upgrades with us are an embedded pod at $3,000–$7,500 per engineer per month.
Where each fact came from.

Do not compare Odoo's pricing page with a NetSuite sales call. Write down your entities, users, the modules you need on day one and the data that has to move, then price both against that list, with NetSuite's renewal terms in writing. We are an Odoo Partner and not a NetSuite partner. We have built on NetSuite for a client, in a published Shopify and NetSuite operations build, and we will tell you when NetSuite is the better fit.
Odoo vs NetSuite
Odoo vs NetSuite: which is better?
Odoo, for small and mid-sized companies where inventory, purchasing or manufacturing is central and a published per-user price matters; it can also be self-hosted. NetSuite, for companies with several subsidiaries across countries that need consolidation and want Oracle to run hosting and upgrades. Odoo is usually far cheaper on licence. NetSuite is stronger out of the box on multi-entity finance through OneWorld.
How much does NetSuite cost?
Oracle does not publish NetSuite prices. Its own pages say you pay an annual licence fee made of three parts, the core platform, optional modules and the number of users, plus a one-time implementation fee. Modules can be added during the contract, each with its own fee. For a market signal, Vendr, a software purchasing firm, reports a median NetSuite contract of $74,782 a year across 1,516 purchases (page updated February 2026). Your figure comes from a quote.
Why doesn't NetSuite publish its prices?
Oracle does not say. What its pages do say is that every licence is built from a platform fee, the modules you choose and your user count, so two companies of the same size can pay very different amounts. Ask for the quote broken down by those lines, with the implementation fee and renewal terms, so you can compare it with Odoo's published prices.
How much does Odoo cost compared with NetSuite?
Odoo's US list prices, checked on 23 October 2026, are US$31.10 per user per month for Standard and US$61.00 for Custom, billed yearly, with 20% off the first 12 months. Twenty-five users on Custom come to US$18,300 a year at list price. NetSuite has no list price; Vendr's reported median contract is $74,782 a year. Implementation is extra on both.
Can Odoo handle multiple companies and currencies like NetSuite OneWorld?
Yes, on the Custom plan: several companies share one database, and accounting handles multiple currencies. NetSuite OneWorld is built for this at larger scale, with real-time consolidation across subsidiaries, 27 languages and 190 currencies. If you have many legal entities in many countries with heavy consolidation and audit needs, NetSuite has the edge.
Can I self-host NetSuite or Odoo?
Odoo, yes. Community is open source and always self-hosted, and Enterprise on the Custom plan can run on your own servers or on Odoo.sh. NetSuite runs only in Oracle's cloud. Oracle handles the infrastructure and two updates a year, and each account is hosted in a single data centre in a region you choose.
How hard is it to leave NetSuite or Odoo?
Odoo lets you download a full database backup from Odoo Online at any time and restore it on Odoo.sh or your own servers. NetSuite's help centre says its Full CSV Export does not export all data; a complete extract combines saved searches, reports, SOAP web services or SuiteAnalytics Connect, and ODBC access carries an extra fee. Either way, leaving an ERP is a migration project.
Is Gigabit a NetSuite partner?
No. Gigabit is an Odoo Partner and implements Odoo from $15,000 fixed, with the licence paid to Odoo. We are not a NetSuite partner and do not resell or implement it. We do integrate it. In a published build for a multi-channel retailer, Shopify returns create NetSuite records, shipping labels and confirmation emails automatically. One integration with NetSuite or Odoo is $8,000 fixed.
